Interim Accountant

RM Recruit are proud to be working with an educational organisation based in Leicester who are recruiting for an experienced Interim Accountant on a full-time, temporary basis for 3 months. Our client can offer a flexible hybrid working arrangement with the office presence set at three days per week and two days working from home.

The ideal candidate will be immediately available or available on short notice.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes
• Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciliations
• Preparing financial reports and analysis for senior management
• Managing balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Monitoring income and expenditure
• Assisting with cash flow management
• Supporting audit and compliance requirements
• Identifying and resolving financial discrepancies
• Providing general financial advice and support to colleagues across the organisation
• Undertaking ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required

Person Specification

• Experience of working with PS Financials or IRIS Financials.
• Previous experience working as an Accountant, Management Accountant or in a similar finance position
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with month-end processes and reconciliations
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills
• The ability to analyse financial information and identify discrepancies
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
