Liberty Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a fantastic organisation in the search for an experienced Interim ER Specialist to join their People team on a fixed term contract of 6-9 months.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a varied and complex caseload, providing expert advice and support across a busy professional services organisation.

Reporting into the Head of HR and working closely with senior stakeholders and external legal advisers, you’ll play a key role in ensuring ER matters are managed fairly, consistently and in line with UK employment legislation and best practice.

Based on the outskirts of Fareham, with travel to other business locations as required, this is a hybrid role with 3 days a week in the office and the salary offered is £50,000 – £65,000 (FTE)

What you’ll do:

  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex and high-risk ER matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance, absence, TUPE, redundancy and settlement agreements.
  • Manage ER cases from initial advice through to resolution, ensuring a pragmatic, commercially focused and legally compliant approach.
  • Work closely with the Head of HR and external legal advisers on employment risk, settlement negotiations and Employment Tribunal preparation.
  • Provide expert advice on employment legislation, policies and best practice, ensuring a fair and consistent approach across the organisation.
  • Coach and support managers to confidently handle people issues and strengthen their ER capability.
  • Analyse workforce data and trends to identify risks and opportunities, supporting continuous improvement across the People function.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive generalist HR experience with a strong Employee Relations background.
  • Proven experience managing complex and high-risk ER cases from start to finish.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and the ability to interpret legal frameworks.
  • Experience with TUPE, redundancy, organisational change and Employment Tribunal preparation.
  • Strong ER background.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to advise and challenge senior managers.
  • A pragmatic, resilient and solutions-focused approach.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly around case documentation and reporting.
  • Excellent coaching and influencing skills.
  • Experience using HRIS and Microsoft Office.
  • CIPD qualified is desirable but not essential.
