Job Opportunities – Education & DSG Finance Business Partner (Midlands Local Authority & Northwest Local Authority)

Location: Hybrid / Remote (3-5 Days Per Week)
Salary: DOE
Start Date: TBC
Contract Length: 6 Months+

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the Finance Business Partner for Education Services and the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG).
• Lead budget setting, forecasting, and financial monitoring across Education budgets.
• Provide financial advice and challenge to Education leaders, budget holders, and senior stakeholders.
• Support DSG management, including High Needs, Schools Block, and Early Years funding.
• Produce financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Identify financial risks, pressures, savings, and funding opportunities.
• Support budget recovery plans, SEND financial management, and DSG sustainability initiatives.
• Contribute to year-end accounts, statutory returns, and audit requirements.

Successful Candidates:

• Fully CCAB qualified (CIPFA, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
• Must have Local Authority experience.
• Experience in a Finance Business Partner or Education Finance role.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis skills.
• Previous experience working with DSG-funded services.
• Knowledge of High Needs, SEND, Schools Funding, and Education finance.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
