Description

  • Provide strategic leadership for the procurement function.
  • Review and enhance procurement governance, policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement robust contract procedure rules and procurement frameworks.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on routes to market and procurement best practice.
  • Assess future procurement requirements and establish a suitable operating model.
  • Lead discussions around procurement systems and technology requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant procurement legislation and internal governance requirements.
  • Support the authority in developing a sustainable long-term procurement strategy.
  • Prepare the organisation for the appointment of a permanent Head of Procurement.

Profile

  • Previous experience operating at Head of Procurement level or above.
  • Strong public sector procurement experience.
  • Proven track record of procurement transformation and function set-up.
  • Experience implementing governance frameworks, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate autonomously.
  • Strong understanding of procurement legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience establishing new procurement functions within emerging organisations would be highly advantageous.

Job Offer

Daily rate from £700 - £850 p/day (Inside IR35) depending on your level of experience. Part time role, with 2 days per week working.
