Salary: Up to £40,170 per annum (pro rata)
Hours: Flexible – 21 to 35 hours per week (3, 4 or 5 days)

Brainkind is the UK's leading charity specialising in neurological care and brain injury rehabilitation. We are looking for an experienced Interim Service Manager to lead Brownswood, our specialist residential service in Milton Keynes, on a 3–6 month fixed-term contract.
Whether you're looking for full-time hours or greater flexibility, we welcome applications from candidates looking to work 3, 4 or 5 days per week.
About Brownswood
Brownswood is a specialist 9-bed residential service supporting adults living with acquired brain injuries and complex neurological conditions.
The service currently supports 8 people and benefits from an experienced, established team, including a long-standing Team Leader with around 15 years' service. Residents have made Brownswood their home for many years and continue to enjoy active, fulfilling lives within their local community.

The Role
As Interim Service Manager, you'll provide day-to-day operational leadership, ensuring the service continues to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care while maintaining the highest standards of governance and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support an experienced staff team.
- Maintain CQC compliance and quality standards.
- Oversee recruitment, supervision and staff development.
- Manage operational performance and service budgets.
- Build positive relationships with families and professionals.
- Promote independence and community participation.
- Drive continuous quality improvement.
- Ensure safe, effective and person-centred care.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Registered Manager or Service Manager with a proven track record of leading adult social care services.
Essential
- Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
- Experience managing a CQC-registered adult social care service.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and quality standards.
- Experience leading, motivating and developing care teams.
- Good operational, financial and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience within neurological, rehabilitation or complex care services.
- Passion for delivering outstanding person-centred care.
