Interim Management Accountant

SF Partners

SF Partners are looking for an experienced, hands-on Management Accountant to join the Group Finance function of a successful c.£300m turnover group. The role sits within the parent company and reports to the Group Financial Controller.

This is initially an interim opportunity with the potential to become permanent, so we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, quickly take ownership of their responsibilities and work confidently with minimal supervision.

This is a hands-on accounting role with no team management responsibilities.

The role

You will play an important part in delivering accurate and timely financial information, supporting the month-end process and maintaining strong financial controls across the parent company.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting delivery to Group deadlines
Managing key month-end processes, including accruals and prepayments
Taking responsibility for stock accounting, including stock counts, stock adjustments and reconciliations
Managing and reconciling GRNI
Maintaining the fixed asset register and associated accounting
Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
Supporting forecasts, budgets and other Group reporting requirements
Providing clear commentary and analysis on financial performance where required
Working closely with operational and finance colleagues to resolve accounting and transactional issues
Supporting the year-end process and working directly with external auditors
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring appropriate financial controls are followed

About you

We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant who is comfortable operating in a busy, commercially focused environment. You will need to be confident getting into the detail as well as understanding how your work contributes to the wider Group.

You will ideally have:

Strong practical experience of management accounting and month-end
Hands-on experience of accruals, prepayments, stock, GRNI and fixed assets
Experience of stock counts and stock adjustments
Previous experience of working with external auditors, or experience gained working within audit
Strong Excel skills
The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and meet reporting deadlines
A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or strong relevant experience/QBE
Experience of Dynamics 365 would be highly advantageous; previous Access Dimensions experience would also be useful

Previous manufacturing experience is not required. Experience gained within a wholesale or distribution business would, however, be an advantage.

This role would particularly suit someone who enjoys being close to the numbers, is comfortable taking ownership and can quickly become an effective member of an established Group Finance function.
