Interim Manager - Nursing Home

This is a rare opportunity to take the reins of a well-regarded 40+ bed nursing home for the elderly, rated ‘Good’ by the CQC and highly respected in the local community.
You’ll provide steady, visible leadership through a period of transition, ensuring residents continue to receive safe, person-centred care while the service evolves and improves.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for the overall operational leadership of the nursing home, providing clear direction to clinical and care teams while maintaining high standards of care and compliance.
Working closely with the rest of the management team and senior stakeholders you will support cultural change, and ensure the home remains compliant, efficient, and responsive to residents’ needs. Your impact will be seen in sustained quality outcomes, a motivated workforce, and a stable, well-run service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide day-to-day leadership and management of the nursing home, ensuring safe, effective and person-centred care for elderly residents.
* Lead, support and supervise the nursing and care teams, promoting a positive, accountable and performance-focused culture.
* Oversee clinical governance processes, including audits, incident reviews and action plans, to maintain and enhance CQC ‘Good’ standards.
* Monitor and improve care quality, implementing service improvement initiatives and embedding best practice across the home.
* Manage staffing levels, rota planning and workforce allocation to ensure safe staffing and continuity of care.
* Ensure robust policies, procedures and documentation are consistently followed and updated in line with regulatory requirements.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a nursing home or similar elderly care setting.
* Strong track record in team management, including supervision, coaching, performance management and conflict resolution.
* Demonstrable experience of clinical governance, quality assurance and regulatory compliance in adult social care.
* Excellent understanding of CQC standards, safeguarding, risk management and person-centred care principles.
* Confident decision-maker with strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills in a busy care environment.
* Effective communicator, able to influence and engage staff, residents, families and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
* Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) with active NMC registration is highly desirable but not necessary.
* Management or leadership qualification in health and social care (e.g. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care) or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development in clinical governance, quality management or care home leadership.
