Interim PMO Manager (Outside IR35)

Location: Leeds (Hybrid - 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Contract: 12 Months
Rate: £550 per day (Outside IR35)

The Opportunity

We're partnering with a fast-growing, privately owned, acquisitive organisation undergoing a significant enterprise-wide transformation programme. As the business continues to scale through acquisition, they're investing heavily in technology and business change to support future growth.

We're looking for an experienced Interim PMO Manager who can bring a blend of PMO leadership and programme delivery expertise. This is not a traditional PMO role focused solely on governance and reporting - we're looking for someone who can drive delivery, coordinate stakeholders and ensure a complex transformation programme stays on track.

Working closely with senior leadership, you'll lead the PMO, manage third-party delivery partners, coordinate multiple business workstreams and provide the structure, governance and leadership required to successfully deliver a major transformation programme.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

Lead and manage the Programme Management Office across a large-scale business transformation programme.
Establish and maintain programme governance, reporting, RAID logs, integrated plans and executive dashboards.
Coordinate multiple workstreams across Technology, Finance, Operations and wider business functions.
Manage relationships with one or more external Systems Integrators and implementation partners, ensuring delivery against agreed milestones and programme objectives.
Drive collaboration between third-party suppliers and internal workstream leads, managing dependencies and resolving issues.
Identify programme risks, blockers and interdependencies, escalating where appropriate.
Facilitate steering committees, governance forums and programme reviews with senior stakeholders.
Ensure programme reporting, resource planning and financial tracking are accurate and timely.
Support programme planning, prioritisation and decision making across the wider transformation portfolio.
Champion programme management best practice and continuous improvement.

About You

You'll combine strong PMO leadership with hands-on programme or project management experience and be comfortable operating in fast-paced transformation environments.

You'll be able to influence senior stakeholders, challenge delivery partners where required and keep multiple workstreams aligned to programme objectives.

Essential Experience:

Proven experience leading PMO functions within large-scale business or technology transformation programmes.
Experience combining PMO leadership with project or programme management responsibilities.
Strong programme governance, planning, reporting, RAID management and programme controls experience.
Experience managing external Systems Integrators and third-party delivery partners.
Ability to coordinate multiple internal workstreams and hold stakeholders accountable for programme deliverables.
Experience presenting to Steering Committees, Programme Boards and Executive stakeholders.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
Comfortable working within fast-paced, evolving organisations with multiple concurrent priorities.
