We are seeking an Interim Senior Commercial Surveyor to lead the delivery of a high-profile disposals programme while overseeing a mixed-use commercial property portfolio.
This is a visible leadership role where you'll work closely with senior stakeholders and external partners to shape and deliver commercial property strategy. You'll balance financial performance with wider regeneration, sustainability, and business objectives, ensuring maximum value is achieved from the estate while supporting long-term growth.
## The Role
As Interim Senior Commercial Surveyor, you will take ownership of a substantial disposals pipeline, leading negotiations and transactions to deliver strong financial outcomes while safeguarding asset value. You will also provide strategic oversight of a diverse commercial portfolio, identifying opportunities for income generation, regeneration, development, and asset optimisation.
This role requires a commercially astute professional who can operate confidently at a senior level, influencing decision-makers and delivering results within a complex property environment.
## Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of the disposals programme, securing maximum capital receipts and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Manage and optimise a mixed-use commercial property portfolio, mitigating risk and enhancing performance.
- Lead the Estates surveying function across acquisitions, disposals, and asset management activities.
- Support and deputise for the Head of Property & Development as required.
- Identify and progress commercial, regeneration, and development opportunities across the estate.
- Prepare and review viability appraisals, options appraisals, business cases, and strategic recommendations.
- Provide expert property and commercial advice to senior stakeholders.
- Contribute to service planning and the implementation of disposals and asset management strategies.
- Build effective relationships with internal departments, consultants, developers, and external partners to deliver key objectives.
## Essential Requirements
Degree (or equivalent professional experience) in Estate Management, Real Estate, Property, or a related discipline. MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), or equivalent recognised professional accreditation. Proven experience delivering asset disposals programmes across complex property portfolios. Strong commercial property and estate management experience within mixed-use portfolios. Experience within the public sector, with private sector experience highly desirable. Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
