Intermediate Electrical Engineer

A leading and well-established building services engineering consultancy is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join its growing electrical design team.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Electrical Engineer to work on a diverse portfolio of technically challenging projects across sectors including commercial, residential, retail and Education.
 
As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer, you will support the delivery of electrical building services designs from concept through to completion.
 
The successful candidate will have practical experience within a building services consultancy environment and will be confident contributing to projects while continuing to develop their technical expertise.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
·Deliver electrical building services designs across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, retail, education and mixed-use developments.
·Assist with the preparation of electrical design strategies, specifications, calculations and technical reports.
·Design and coordinate electrical systems
·Carry out electrical calculations including load assessments, voltage drop calculations, cable sizing and fault level assessments.
·Support energy-efficient design solutions and contribute to low-carbon building strategies.
·Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical engineers, architects, structural engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders.
·Attend project meetings and provide technical input throughout all design stages.
·Undertake site surveys, inspections and support construction-stage activities where required.
·Ensure designs comply with relevant UK regulations, British Standards, CIBSE guidance and industry best practice.
·Support junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the electrical team.
 
Skills & Experience Required:
 
·Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
·Approximately 3-5 years' experience within a building services engineering consultancy environment.
·Proven experience designing electrical building services systems for commercial, residential or mixed-use developments.
·Strong understanding of electrical design principles and building services engineering.
·Experience producing electrical calculations, specifications and technical reports.
·Experience supporting energy modelling, sustainability assessments and building performance analysis.
·Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations), CIBSE guidance and relevant industry standards.
·Experience using design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP and/or other BIM platforms.
·Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary design teams.
