Quantity Surveyor 
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum

The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a high-performing commercial team working on an established SGN contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with experience in the utilities or civil engineering sector, particularly someone with a strong understanding of NEC contracts, subcontract management and high-volume works.
The role will play an important part in ensuring the commercial success of the contract while supporting the delivery of sustainable and future-focused infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
  • Generate weekly revenue and cost reports
  • Control and monitor submissions of daily completed works
  • Produce and manage Schedules of Rates
  • Reconcile subcontractor costs and prepare payment certificates
  • Liaise closely with Operations and Planning teams to monitor job progress
  • Identify and manage changes in scope
  • Review scheme works to ensure commercial and operational targets are on track
  • Price completed jobs across high-volume works
  • Analyse weekly and monthly cost and revenue data
  • Monitor commercial performance and identify potential risks and opportunities
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure data integrity
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience delivering NEC contract schemes
  • Strong subcontract management experience
  • A background within utilities, gas, civil engineering or infrastructure
  • Experience working within a high-volume commercial environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive approach with a positive attitude
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Experience mentoring or developing junior commercial colleagues would be advantageous
Technical Skills
Microsoft Excel proficiency is essential.
You should be confident using:
  • Excel formulas
  • Pivot tables
  • VLOOKUPs
  • Data analysis and reporting
Experience working with large volumes of commercial data and maintaining accurate reporting will be highly beneficial.
