Location: Letchworth

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00
Holiday: 23 days plus bank holidays

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Internal Account Manager to join a well-established business operating within the packaging industry.

Working closely with the external sales team, you will take responsibility for managing and developing existing B2B customer accounts, responding to enquiries, preparing quotations and identifying opportunities to increase account value.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing packaging industry experience who enjoys building strong customer relationships and has a commercially minded approach to account management and sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of existing customer accounts, acting as their main day-to-day point of contact.
  • Handle incoming enquiries and prepare accurate, competitive quotations within agreed timescales.
  • Proactively follow up quotations and outstanding opportunities to convert enquiries into orders.
  • Identify and develop lower-spend accounts, working to increase their value and potential over time.
  • Provide excellent day-to-day customer support, dealing with queries, orders and any issues efficiently.
  • Work closely with external sales, production and operations teams to ensure a smooth and reliable customer experience.
  • Identify additional sales opportunities across existing accounts.
  • Maintain accurate customer, quotation and order information.
  • Ensure customer specifications, dimensions, pricing and delivery requirements are handled with a high level of accuracy.
About You

The successful candidate will have previous experience within the packaging industry – this is essential.

You will ideally have a strong understanding of packaging products and processes, particularly within corrugated packaging. This may include knowledge of:

  • Corrugated board grades
  • Box styles and specifications
  • Dimensions and bespoke packaging requirements
  • Minimum order quantities
  • Lead times
  • General packaging products and terminology

Experience gained within a packaging manufacturer, merchant, distributor or similar environment would be particularly relevant.

You should also have:

  • Proven experience managing B2B customer accounts.
  • Experience preparing quotations and following up sales enquiries.
  • Excellent telephone and customer-service skills.
  • A commercially aware approach, with the confidence to identify and develop additional sales opportunities.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with specifications, dimensions and pricing.
  • The ability to work effectively with sales, production and operational teams.
  • A proactive, organised and customer-focused approach.
