Wolviston Management Services is recruiting on behalf of a leading global manufacturer of high-performance engineering materials for an experienced Internal Sales Engineer to join their growing team in Todmorden.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused engineering professional who enjoys building customer relationships, developing technical solutions, and working collaboratively across sales, production, and operational teams.
You will play a key role in supporting business growth by managing customer enquiries, preparing accurate quotations, and ensuring customers receive an exceptional level of service throughout the sales process.
Key Responsibilities
As Internal Sales Engineer, you will:
- Respond to customer enquiries and identify suitable technical and commercial solutions.
- Prepare accurate and competitive quotations aligned with customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
- Work closely with customers, external sales teams, production, and planning departments to support business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and follow-up activities.
- Support order processing and ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated internally.
- Monitor quotation activity and help drive conversion of opportunities into confirmed orders.
- Provide technical guidance and product information to customers when required.
- Maintain accurate records using ERP and business systems.
- Previous experience within an internal sales, sales engineering, estimating, or commercial engineering environment.
- Strong technical understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes.
- The ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into commercially viable solutions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Good analytical and numeracy skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- A proactive and customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working with engineering plastics or advanced materials.
- Background in manufacturing, production, purchasing, or technical sales.
- Familiarity with M3 Movex or similar ERP systems.
- Engineering, business, mathematical, or technical qualifications, including apprenticeship pathways.
