Internal Sales Executive - Electrical Distribution

A successful and growing electrical distribution business is looking to recruit an Internal Sales Executive to join its Manchester team.

Part of a highly successful UK distribution group with annual turnover exceeding £1 billion, the business has been serving the electrical wholesale industry for decades and has built an outstanding reputation for customer service, product availability and long-term customer relationships.

This opportunity would suit someone who already understands how a wholesale or merchant environment operates and is looking to take the next step in their career. Whether you’re currently working on a trade counter, in customer service, sales support or internal sales, you’ll already appreciate the pace, customer focus and commercial nature of the industry.

The Role

Working from a busy and vibrant office, you’ll become a key point of contact for customers, handling enquiries, preparing quotations, processing orders and helping to grow existing accounts.

The role benefits from a strong flow of inbound business, but the successful candidate will also be encouraged to proactively identify opportunities to increase sales, strengthen customer relationships and win additional business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Handling customer enquiries by telephone and email
  • Preparing quotations and processing customer orders
  • Building strong relationships with existing customers
  • Following up quotations and sales opportunities
  • Identifying opportunities to increase account spend
  • Supporting new business development activities
  • Maintaining accurate records using the CRM system
  • Working closely with suppliers and colleagues to deliver excellent customer service

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience within electrical wholesale, distribution or a similar trade environment
  • Previous experience in trade counter, customer service, internal sales or account support
  • Confident communicating with customers by phone and email
  • Commercially aware with a proactive approach
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Good IT skills and experience using CRM systems
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ambitious, positive and keen to build a long-term career
