International Sales Manager
Introduction
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an International Sales Manager to join a growing technical engineering business in a fully remote role, responsible for driving international sales growth across a global customer base.
The International Sales Manager will manage and develop established customer relationships while identifying new markets, applications and business opportunities. This role requires flexibility and availability to support customers, colleagues and partners across different international time zones.
The ideal candidate will have a background in technical, engineered-product or international sales. Experience with sensors would be highly advantageous, particularly load cells, although candidates with strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn sensor technologies will also be considered.
This is a genuinely international role, with an established customer base and the opportunity to develop new business across a global, unrestricted territory. International travel is expected, likely around 4–6 trips per year, including customer visits, trade shows and visits to the company’s Sri Lankan manufacturing facility. There may also be opportunities to travel further across Europe, Asia and the US.

- Manage and develop an established portfolio of international customers, building long-term commercial relationships.
- Identify and develop new customers, markets, applications and opportunities across a global territory.

- Manage the complete sales process from initial enquiry through technical evaluation, quotation, negotiation and order.
- Understand customer requirements and work closely with engineering teams to develop appropriate technical solutions.
- Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, pipeline and forecast information using Salesforce or a similar CRM.
- Develop sales forecasts, budgets and revenue plans, monitoring performance against agreed objectives.
- Work closely with Operations, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure customer requirements and commitments are delivered.
- Build a strong commercial relationship with the manufacturing facility in Sri Lanka, including visits 1-2 times a year.
- Attend international trade shows and customer meetings as required.
- Provide responsive and effective support to customers across different countries and time zones.
- Travel internationally as required, including approximately 1–2 visits per year to the Sri Lankan manufacturing facility and periodic travel to the US, Europe and potentially Asia.
Ideal Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in international sales, technical sales, business development or sales management within an engineering or technical product environment.
- Experience selling sensors, instrumentation or other technical components would be highly advantageous, particularly load cells.
- Alternatively, strong technical understanding with the ability and willingness to learn complex sensor products and applications.
- Demonstrable experience developing new business, growing revenue and expanding existing customer accounts.
- Strong commercial understanding, including quotations, pricing, negotiation, forecasting and budgeting.
- Experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM system.
- Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Able to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Operations, Quality and senior management teams.
- Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
- Comfortable working with customers and colleagues across different cultures, countries and time zones.
