IQA - Early Years
Educated Appointments
If you know your way around an IQA sampling plan, understand what good looks like in early years apprenticeship delivery, and want a role where your work genuinely shapes the quality of provision — this is worth reading.
We're recruiting on behalf of a specialist apprenticeship provider delivering Level 3 Early Years Educator and Support Teaching and Learning programmes across the Midlands, North West, and London. They operate a blended delivery model and have a clear focus on doing things properly — not just ticking boxes.
This is a full-time, permanent IQA role based in Birmingham with hybrid working. You'll be the person keeping assessment practice consistent, compliant, and continuously improving.
What you'll be doing
- Planning and carrying out internal quality assurance activities across childcare apprenticeship programmes
- Sampling learner work and reviewing assessment decisions against awarding body requirements
- Monitoring assessor performance and providing clear, constructive feedback
- Leading and supporting standardisation meetings to maintain consistent practice
- Analysing quality data, identifying trends, and preparing reports
- Collaborating with trainers and assessors to drive meaningful improvements
- Communicating with internal teams and external partners to uphold best practice
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of apprenticeship delivery
What we're looking for
- A Level 4 IQA qualification (or equivalent, such as V1/D34) — this is essential
- Solid experience in internal quality assurance within apprenticeship or vocational training
- A good working knowledge of the early years or education sector, including EYFS, awarding body requirements, and relevant regulatory frameworks
- The ability to interpret quality data and turn it into practical recommendations
- Strong communication skills — you'll be giving feedback to assessors and presenting findings to stakeholders
- Comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment and travelling to employer and training sites when needed
What's on offer
- Permanent contract
- Hybrid working — Birmingham base with home working flexibility
- A focused, specialist team working in a sector that matters
- The chance to make a real difference to the quality of early years apprenticeship provision
