We are currently seeking an IT Apprentice to join our team in Avonmouth to support various projects and daily activities, learning foundational skills in IT systems, data analysis, process improvement, and business communication. This is an ideal entry-level position for individuals eager to launch a career at the intersection of technology and business

What will you be doing?

Within this position you will be responsible for:

  • Technical Support: Provide first-line support for IT-related issues, escalating complex problems to senior IT staff.
  • System Administration Support: Assist with basic system maintenance, user account management, and software installations.
  • Data Management: Support data entry, data cleansing, and basic report generation from various business systems.
  • Documentation: Help maintain IT documentation, including user guides, process flows, and system configurations.
  • Hardware & Software: Assist with the setup, deployment, and inventory management of IT hardware and software.

Key Outputs:

  • Process Analysis: Support the analysis of existing business processes, identifying areas for efficiency and improvement.
  • Project Support: Assist project managers with administrative tasks, scheduling, and tracking project progress.
  • Data Analysis: Contribute to the collection and analysis of business data to support decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate communication between IT and business departments, translating technical concepts into business terms and vice-versa.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present basic business reports and dashboards.

What are we looking for?

  • Education: Minimum of [Specify Qualification, e.g., 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or above, including English and Maths, or equivalent vocational qualification].
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly.
  • Problem-Solving: A logical and analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Motivation: A strong desire to learn, adapt, and take initiative.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Basic understanding of IT concepts (e.g., networks, operating systems).
  • Familiarity with business processes or an interest in how businesses operate.
  • Experience with any programming language or data analysis tools.

Training & Development expectations:

The successful candidate will undertake a structured apprenticeship program, leading to a recognised qualification. This will include a blend of on-the-job training, formal courses, and mentorship from experienced professionals. Opportunities for continuous professional development will be provided.
