IT Operations Manager
ProTech Recruitment Ltd
IT Operations Manager
Hemel Hempstead, Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 from home)
£65,000 - £70,000 + Excellent Benefits
Be the person who keeps the business running.
Not everyone wants to spend their life delivering the next migration project.
Some people genuinely enjoy making sure the IT operation runs like clockwork.
If you're the person who takes ownership, keeps suppliers on their toes, enjoys solving problems before anyone else notices them, and likes being the calm head when things don't quite go to plan... we'd like to meet you.
We're looking for an IT Operations Manager to become the trusted right hand to our Technology Director within a successful international healthcare business.
This isn't about sitting in endless project meetings.
It's about owning the day-to-day operation of IT across the business, making sure services are reliable, secure and continually improving.
What you'll be doing
- Taking ownership of day-to-day IT operations.
- Managing and challenging external IT suppliers and MSPs to deliver excellent service.
- Monitoring SLAs, KPIs and service performance.
- Acting as the senior escalation point for operational IT issues.
- Driving continual service improvement and operational efficiency.
- Supporting infrastructure, business systems and technology upgrades.
- Helping shape disaster recovery, business continuity and cyber security initiatives.
- Producing meaningful service reporting for senior stakeholders.
- Working closely with the Technology Director, becoming a trusted operational deputy.
We're looking for someone who...
- Has experience running an internal IT operation.
- Enjoys supplier and stakeholder management just as much as the technology itself.
- Knows how to hold third-party providers accountable.
- Can build relationships across every level of a business.
- Has a solid infrastructure background with broad Microsoft technology knowledge.
- Stays calm under pressure and enjoys solving operational challenges.
- Has worked within a regulated or quality-driven environment (healthcare, manufacturing, engineering or similar) - although this isn't essential.
Why this role?
You'll be joining a collaborative business where IT is genuinely valued, not hidden away in a back office.
You'll have the opportunity to influence how technology is delivered across the organisation, work closely with senior leadership and make a real difference to the people using your services every day.
If you enjoy running IT Operations rather than simply delivering projects, this could be exactly what you're looking for.
Applicants must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, sponsorship is not available for this position.
