£70,000
Hybrid (Taunton 3 days/week)
Our client is looking for an IT Programme Manager to lead the delivery of major IT and business change programmes for a well-established not-for-profit organisation making a genuine difference in the sector it serves. Every project you deliver here translates directly into a better experience for the people the organisation supports.
Reporting to the Head of IT and leading a small project management team, you'll be the driving force behind the design, delivery and rollout of IT solutions across the business. You’ll be working hand-in-hand with internal teams, business stakeholders and third-party providers to make sure change actually lands.
What you'll be doing
- Owning delivery of the IT programme and portfolio that underpins the organisation's strategic direction
- Leading process mapping and requirements gathering with business experts, translating complex needs into clear, actionable project and programme deliverables
- Managing the resolution of design and technical issues through close collaboration with project teams and end users
- Ensuring new systems and processes integrate smoothly with existing ways of working, minimising disruption to frontline services
- Building a highly engaging, service-focused culture across the IT team and the wider business
- Managing, coaching and developing your direct reports, including performance, absence and PDRs
- Setting the standard for project governance, best practice and continuous improvement
What we're looking for
- Proven experience delivering IT software project implementations, system configuration projects, business change and system rollouts
- Strong grounding in standard project methodologies - PRINCE2, Waterfall, DevOps and Agile
- A confident, credible leader who can manage a matrix team, influence at all levels and hold their ground on what matters while staying flexible on the rest
- Experience managing project scope, change control and stakeholder expectations, including with resistance to change
- A track record of working with detailed specifications - data requirements, process flows, user interface changes and user stories
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the analytical rigour to match
- PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM or PMP desirable but not essential
What's in it for you
- £70,000 salary, permanent role
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, rising with length of service
- 5% matched pension contribution
- Private healthcare and life cover
- Access to early wage access via a wage streaming benefit
- Discounts across thousands of retailers through a dedicated rewards platform
- A genuine investment in your development, including access to an online learning platform
- Employee Assistance Programme
This is a role for someone who wants their programme management skills to count for something beyond the balance sheet - helping a not-for-profit organisation deliver on its ambition to be the provider people choose.
