IT Project Manager - Cyber Security | Cardiff | Up to £71,500 + excellent benefits

Want to take ownership of high-profile technology and cyber security projects where the work you deliver genuinely matters?

We're looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to join a major, multi-year cyber security and technology transformation programme within a highly regulated environment.

You'll be trusted to lead complex projects from initial concept through to delivery, working with senior stakeholders, technical teams and specialist third-party suppliers. This is an opportunity to get involved in business-critical change with plenty of visibility, ownership and variety.

What you'll be doing

You'll take responsibility for projects across the full lifecycle, including:

  • Leading complex IT and cyber security projects from definition through to successful delivery
  • Building project plans, milestones and deliverables and keeping delivery firmly on track
  • Managing budgets, risks, issues, dependencies and governance
  • Working closely with senior sponsors and stakeholders across the organisation
  • Managing third-party suppliers and outsourced delivery partners
  • Running multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously
  • Driving change adoption, training and transition into BAU
  • Providing clear, concise reporting on project progress and performance

What we're looking for

You'll already have a strong track record of delivering complex IT projects and be comfortable operating in an environment where stakeholder management and successful delivery are equally important.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Extensive end-to-end IT project management experience
  • Experience working within a complex, regulated environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Strong supplier, vendor and commercial management experience
  • Experience owning project budgets and financial performance
  • A PRINCE2 or PMP practitioner-level qualification
  • Degree-level education or equivalent

Experience within cyber security, cyber resilience, utilities or Critical National Infrastructure would make you particularly well suited to the role, while ITIL experience would also be beneficial.

Why consider it?

This isn't a role where you'll simply maintain project plans and produce status reports.

You'll be joining a significant programme of technology and cyber security change, taking ownership of projects that have real operational importance and working across a complex organisation with senior-level exposure.

If you're an experienced IT Project Manager looking for greater exposure to cyber security, critical infrastructure and large-scale transformation, we'd be keen to hear from you.
