IT Support Engineer in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire

Shields Talent is delighted to be partnering exclusively with an established and growing IT consultancy and managed services business to recruit an IT Support Engineer to join their expanding team. Their team is currently around 30 people and they provide IT support, consultancy and professional services to a diverse client base across the UK. 

Working alongside experienced IT support engineers, you will help clients resolve a varied range of technical issues. You will be supported as you settle into the role and encouraged to shape your development around the technologies and areas of IT that interest you most.

Job Details

• IT Support Engineer
• Salary - £27k - £32k (with salary reviews that recognise your progress)
• Location - Motherwell
• Work conditions - Office based, Monday to Friday, 9.00 am–5.00 pm (35 hours per week)

Candidate Requirements

• Previous IT support experience is required; at least one year of experience would be advantageous
• A genuine interest in IT and experience using a range of Microsoft applications
• A positive, curious and solutions-focused approach
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good analytical and numerical skills
• The ability to work well with others in a collaborative environmen

Education & Qualifications

Ideally, a 2:1 degree or above; however, applications are also welcome from candidates with strong academic qualifications and demonstrable IT capability

Candidate Responsibilities

• Provide helpful, professional IT support to clients across a broad range of technical issues
• Work closely with colleagues to investigate problems and identify effective solutions
• Support the testing, improvement and delivery of the technology that underpins our clients and our business
• Keep up to date with new technologies, products and approaches
• Build strong commercial, technical and professional skills through hands-on experience

• How software and hardware solutions are applied in the day-to-day operations of different organisations
• How to translate existing academic or technical knowledge into practical commercial solutions.

• Final stage interview onsite with Hiring Managers
