IT Support Technician

The Role

Our client is looking for an IT Support Technician to join their internal IT team and provide hands-on technical support to users across a busy and varied site. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting, working directly with users and providing high-quality customer service.

You’ll be the first point of contact for day-to-day IT queries, supporting colleagues both in person and remotely. You’ll troubleshoot hardware and software issues, provide Microsoft 365 support and help identify opportunities to improve the way technology is used across the business.
The role will involve working across different buildings and environments, so this would suit someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on IT support position rather than being desk-based all day.
My client is also investing in their IT systems and infrastructure, giving you the opportunity to develop your technical skills and get involved in ongoing improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first-line IT support to users across the business
  • Respond to IT queries in person, by phone and via email
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues
  • Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices and other IT equipment
  • Provide day-to-day support for Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
  • Listen to users, understand their issues and provide clear, practical solutions
  • Escalate more complex technical issues where appropriate
  • Help users make better and more efficient use of technology
  • Identify opportunities to improve IT systems, processes and user experience
  • Work closely with the wider IT team and departments across the business
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and user satisfaction
About You The successful candidate will ideally have experience in an IT support, service desk or IT technician role and be comfortable providing hands-on support to non-technical users.

You'll need to have:
  • A strong customer-focused approach and a genuine desire to help users
  • Good knowledge of general IT hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical colleagues
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • The ability to prioritise and manage multiple support requests
  • A calm and logical approach when dealing with technical issues
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider IT team
  • A flexible and collaborative approach
  • The confidence to work with users across different departments and environments
Why Apply?

This is a great opportunity to join an established business where you’ll have real exposure to a broad range of IT support activities.
You'll be encouraged to develop your skills, learn new technologies and contribute ideas that can improve the IT experience across the business.
The role offers variety, hands-on technical work and the opportunity to become a key member of the internal IT team.

Benefits
  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Additional day off to attend the annual company Fun Day
  • Option to purchase additional annual leave
  • Death in service benefit of 4x annual salary
  • Discounts across the company's full product range
  • Secure onsite parking
