We're seeking a talented Java Software Developer with active SC Clearance to support the delivery of secure, large-scale digital services. 💻 About the Role
As a Java Software Developer, you will design, develop and maintain high-quality software solutions within a secure delivery environment. Working alongside multidisciplinary agile teams, you'll contribute to the development of scalable applications, modern CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployments, while promoting engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to London for workshops and collaborative sessions.
Core Technology Stack: Java, Spring Framework, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, TDD, Agile Delivery, Microservices and Cloud-Native Architecture.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance and maintain Java-based applications and services.
- Design robust software solutions using established design patterns and engineering best practices.
- Build and support containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Champion Test-Driven Development (TDD), code quality and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, testers and stakeholders in agile delivery teams.
- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews and architecture decisions.
- Support the successful delivery of secure digital transformation programmes.
✅ Requirements
- Active SC Clearance that has been used on a live project within the last 12 months.
- Strong commercial experience with Java development.
- Experience using the Spring Framework or equivalent technologies.
- Solid understanding of software design patterns and their practical application.
- Excellent knowledge of modern software development practices and delivery processes.
- Experience with containerisation technologies including Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- Experience implementing and maintaining Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines.
- Passion for producing high-quality, maintainable code through TDD and engineering best practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within remote agile teams.
