Joiner with SMSTS – Social Housing Refurbishment

Pay: £250 per day
Hours: 8 hours per day
Contract: 1 month initially, with the opportunity to move onto another project upon completion.
Start date: 17/08/26

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Joiner with SMSTS to join a well-established contractor delivering social housing refurbishment works across Manchester.

This is a hands-on role working on a programme of occupied and void property refurbishments, including kitchen replacements, bathroom refits and general internal upgrades.

The successful candidate will be expected to work as a Joiner while also taking responsibility for overseeing works on site, coordinating trades and ensuring the project continues to progress safely and to programme.

The Role

• Carry out joinery works across social housing refurbishment projects.
• Oversee and coordinate trades and subcontractors on site.
• Assist with kitchen replacements, bathroom refits and general internal refurbishment works.
• Ensure works are completed safely, on programme and to a high standard.
• Support with site inductions, toolbox talks and health & safety requirements.
• Liaise with the Contracts Manager and other site personnel.
• Complete relevant site paperwork and progress updates.
• Take a hands-on approach to keep works progressing.
• The initial contract is for 1 month, with the successful candidate expected to move onto another project once completed.

Requirements

• Experienced Joiner with a strong background in refurbishment.
• Valid SMSTS.
• CSCS Card.
• Previous experience working on social housing refurbishment projects is desirable.
• Experience with kitchens, bathrooms and general internal refurbishment.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety.
• Proactive and reliable approach.
• Comfortable working on the tools while also overseeing site activities.
