Joiners / Assembly Operatives

Due to continued growth and an increasing order book, Display By Design Ltd is recruiting for multiple Joiners / Assembly Operatives to join our manufacturing team in Wigston, Leicester.

We are a well-established UK manufacturer specialising in retail displays, point-of-sale and bespoke manufactured products, producing projects for some of the UK’s best-known retailers and brands.

We are looking for experienced, practical people who take pride in their work and can produce high-quality products in a busy manufacturing environment.

The Role

Working within our production and assembly departments, you will be involved in the manufacture and assembly of a wide variety of bespoke products. Unlike repetitive production-line work, our projects vary considerably, so you will regularly be working on different products, materials and designs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assembling retail display units, counters, furniture and bespoke manufactured products.
• Working with MDF, MFC, plywood, laminates and other sheet materials.
• Fitting components, hardware, hinges, runners and other fixtures.
• Using hand tools and power tools safely and accurately.
• Reading and working from technical drawings, cutting lists and job sheets.
• Carrying out general bench joinery and assembly work.
• Checking components and finished products for quality and accuracy.
• Making adjustments and problem-solving during the assembly process where required.
• Ensuring finished products meet our quality standards before packing and despatch.
• Working closely with CNC, edging, finishing and other production departments.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.

What We're Looking For

Ideally, applicants will have previous experience within joinery, furniture manufacturing, retail display manufacture, kitchen manufacture or a similar manufacturing environment.

We would particularly like to hear from people who:

• Have strong practical and assembly skills.
• Are confident using hand and power tools.
• Can understand and work from technical drawings.
• Have good attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
• Can work accurately and efficiently to production deadlines.
• Are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
• Take pride in producing a high-quality finished product.
• Are reliable, punctual and have a positive approach to work.

Experience in bespoke manufacturing or retail display production would be beneficial, but we are also interested in experienced joiners, cabinet makers, furniture assemblers and bench joiners whose skills would transfer well into our business.
