Welshpool Based | Salary: £28,000-£35,000

Are you an experienced Junior Accountant looking for your next opportunity in practice?

We're recruiting on behalf of an established accountancy practice in the Welshpool area that is looking to add a Junior Accountant to its friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a varied client portfolio while developing your technical skills within a professional practice environment.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
• Qualified, part-qualified, or currently studying towards a recognised accounting or finance qualification (such as AAT, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
• Good understanding of accounts preparation and bookkeeping

Desirable:

• Experience preparing VAT returns
• Knowledge of cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
• Experience working with a variety of SME clients

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts for a range of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Assist with bookkeeping and VAT return preparation
• Prepare management accounts where required
• Support the preparation of corporation tax and self-assessment returns
• Liaise with clients to obtain financial information and answer day-to-day queries
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure work is completed within deadlines
• Assist senior members of the team with ad hoc accounting assignments
