A medium-sized multidisciplinary consultancy is looking for a Junior/Assistant Civil Engineer to join its Cambridge team.
This is a great opportunity for an engineer with at least 1 year of experience looking to develop their career across a range of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects, with exposure to drainage, highways, SuDS and flood risk.
The Role
- Supporting the design of highways, drainage and infrastructure schemes.
- Assisting with SuDS, surface water and flood risk solutions.
- Working on S278 and S38 schemes.
- Producing drawings, calculations and technical documentation.
- Using AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop designs.
- Liaising with clients, developers, architects and local authorities.
- Working to relevant standards including Manual for Streets, SuDS Manual, Sewers for Adoption and DMRB.
- Developing technical and project coordination skills alongside senior engineers.
About You
- BEng, MEng, MSc or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- 1+ years' relevant experience, ideally within a consultancy.
- Experience or knowledge of drainage, highways, SuDS and/or flood risk.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, with Civil 3D advantageous.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Interest in working towards ICE professional accreditation.
