Junior Buyer

Our client, a manufacturing business in Rotherham, seek to appoint a Junior Buyer. Working for a long-established business on a great product range you will have some engineering knowledge (previous work experience experience in a manufacturing company preferred) and be a strong negotiator. You will also understand the fundamentals of purchasing / buying and have good communication skills. You do not need to have significant work experience as a Junior Buyer as you will be working closely with a Senior Buyer on a day-to-day basis. This role would suit someone looking for their first step into a Buyer role.

Junior Buyer - Role and Responsibilities - Procurement / Purchasing / Buying / Engineering / Manufacturing

* Review purchase requests for material or manual purchase requisition
* Monitor purchase orders to maintain delivery schedules
* Maintain supplier relationships in order to drive cost reductions while continually achieving the highest level of quality material
* Plan & expedite the required material to ensure availability to production in a timely manner
* Resolve invoice queries

Junior Buyer - Skills and Abilities - Procurement / Purchasing / Buying / Engineering / Manufacturing

* An understanding of manufacturing
* Some experience in a buyer / procurement / purchasing role advanteageous
* Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
* Strong negotiating skills, ability to multitask, prioritise work and develop excellent working relationships with other departments and suppliers / customers
* Self-motivated, takes responsibility, can work to time constraints and use own initiatives to solve problems
