Junior Cad Technician

Are you a Junior CAD Technician looking to build your career within the Building Services sector?

We're recruiting on behalf of a growing and well-established M&E contractor based in Shrewsbury. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team where you'll gain exposure to a wide variety of projects while developing your technical and commercial skills.

This role is ideal for someone with AutoCAD experience and an interest in Mechanical & Electrical Building Services who is keen to learn and isn't afraid to get involved in different aspects of the business.

The Role

Working alongside experienced engineers and project teams, you'll be responsible for producing and updating CAD drawings while also providing support with estimating, project documentation and general office activities as required.

This is a varied position offering genuine career progression and the chance to develop into a well-rounded Building Services professional.

Responsibilities

• Produce and amend 2D AutoCAD drawings for M&E projects.
• Assist with building services design documentation.
• Update as-built drawings.
• Support the estimating team with basic take-offs and quotations.
• Maintain project documentation and drawing registers.
• Liaise with engineers, project managers and site teams.
• Provide general support across the business where required.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

• Experience using AutoCAD (work experience or relevant qualification).
• An interest in Mechanical & Electrical Building Services.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Good communication skills.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good Microsoft Office skills.

Desirable

• Experience within construction or building services.
• Knowledge of M&E drawings.
• Estimating or quantity take-off experience.
• Relevant engineering, construction or CAD qualification.
