We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing flooring contractor for a Junior Contracts Manager to join their professional and friendly team.

The role will be based from the company's office in Erith, with responsibility for projects across London and the South East.

The Role

As a Junior Contracts Manager, you will support the management and delivery of a portfolio of flooring and construction projects. You will work closely with clients, Site Managers, Surveyors, Supervisors, Fitters and internal teams to ensure projects are completed efficiently, on time and within budget.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing key administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate project records, appointments and correspondence.
  • Prioritising workloads and managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Producing and assisting with complex quotations.
  • Attending pre-start and site meetings when required.
  • Responding to client and internal team requests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Liaising with the Logistics Manager to coordinate material orders and deliveries.
  • Helping to ensure labour and resources are available when required.
  • Understanding and managing site requirements and project specifications.
  • Supporting the delivery of projects to agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships with Site Managers, Surveyors, Site Supervisors and installation teams.
  • Supporting quality management and ensuring health and safety requirements are understood and followed.

About You

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, commercially aware and keen to develop their career within the construction industry.

You will ideally have:

  • A strong interest in construction, contracts management or a related field & excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office - Experience using Excel would be advantageous.
  • The confidence to communicate professionally with clients, colleagues and construction professionals.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of costs, budgets and project profitability.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, flexible and resilient approach to work.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
  • A professional approach to quality, health and safety and customer service.

Qualifications and Experience

A construction-related educational background would be highly advantageous.

In particular, we would welcome applications from candidates with:

  • A degree or higher-level qualification in Construction Management or another construction-related discipline. or completion of, or progress towards, a construction management pathway, apprenticeship or similar qualification.
  • An understanding of construction processes, site operations, specifications or project management, with knowledge of estimating, scheduling or construction management systems.
