Junior Electrical Engineer
Aldwych Consulting
Electrical Engineer
London | Hybrid Working
Looking for more responsibility, greater project exposure and the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers who'll genuinely invest in your development?
We're partnering with an ambitious and innovative building services consultancy that's challenging the traditional consultancy model. Working across the commercial property sector, they provide MEP engineering, technical due diligence, refurbishment, decarbonisation and advisory services for developers, investors, asset managers and occupiers.
Innovation is a key part of the business. Alongside delivering high-quality engineering solutions, they're developing their own AI platform specifically for the built environment, designed to improve project delivery, streamline engineering processes and help clients make smarter, data-driven decisions.
Why Join?
This is a consultancy that's growing with purpose-not simply increasing headcount.
The team currently consists of nine engineers, including one based in Cape Town, with plans to grow organically to around 15 engineers by Q2 2027 and approximately 25 by the end of 2028.
Growth is carefully managed to protect the qualities that set the business apart:
- Exceptional technical standards.
- A collaborative and supportive working environment.
- A positive team culture where everyone has a voice.
Unlike larger consultancies, you'll work directly with Directors and senior engineers from the outset. You'll gain exposure to client meetings, technical decision-making and every stage of project delivery, giving you the kind of responsibility and learning opportunities that can take years to access elsewhere.
The Role
This role is ideal for an Electrical Engineer with previous building services consultancy experience who wants to broaden their project exposure and continue developing technically.
You'll support the design and delivery of electrical building services projects across a range of commercial developments, working closely with experienced engineers while taking on increasing responsibility as your career progresses.
Please note: This is not a graduate position. Applicants must already have experience working within a building services consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce electrical building services designs and calculations.
- Prepare specifications, reports and technical documentation.
- Assist with the delivery of projects from concept through to completion.
- Attend client and design team meetings.
- Carry out site inspections and support projects during construction.
- Coordinate designs with mechanical engineers and external consultants.

About You
You'll ideally have:
- A minimum of 18 months' experience within a Building Services Consultancy (essential).
- Experience producing electrical building services designs for commercial projects.
- A good understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant industry standards.
- Experience using industry-standard design software.
- A degree (or equivalent) in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- The ambition to continue developing towards senior engineer level.
This opportunity is not suitable for graduates or candidates without previous Building Services Consultancy experience. Applications from candidates without relevant industry experience will not be considered.
