Junior Engineer

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000

Hours: 48 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday–Friday / Tuesday–Saturday

Location: On-site – driving licence and own transport required due to location

Are you an early-career Engineer looking to build your experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment?

We’re recruiting for a Junior Engineer to join an established engineering team, providing hands-on support across production equipment, maintenance and continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has recently completed an Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or equivalent and is ready to take the next step in their engineering career.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, developing your mechanical and electrical knowledge while gaining exposure to a busy manufacturing operation.

The Role

As a Junior Engineer, you will:

  • Support planned and reactive maintenance across production and manufacturing equipment.
  • Assist with mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs.
  • Help diagnose equipment issues and minimise production downtime.
  • Work alongside experienced engineers on maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Support preventative maintenance activities and equipment inspections.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop your engineering knowledge through practical, hands-on experience.
  • Work closely with production and engineering colleagues in a fast-paced environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Recently completed an Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Good foundation in mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Experience or a strong interest in food manufacturing, FMCG, industrial engineering or manufacturing.
  • Practical, hands-on approach to engineering and fault finding.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Genuine interest in engineering, maintenance and continuous improvement.
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport are essential due to the site location.

Hours & Shift Pattern

This is a 48-hour-per-week position operating across a Monday–Saturday shift pattern:

  • Monday–Friday: 07:00 – 17:10
  • Tuesday–Saturday: Tuesday–Friday 08:50 – 19:00, Saturday 07:00 – 17:10
