Streamline Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of an established logistics business for a Junior Export Operator to join their export team!
This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their career who is interested in learning the freight forwarding and international shipping industry.
You will initially work alongside experienced export operators, providing day-to-day administrative and operational support while learning how export shipments are managed.
The role will involve helping with documentation, keeping shipment records accurate, chasing information and supporting the wider export team.
As your knowledge and confidence develop, you will gradually take on more responsibility and could progress towards managing your own shipments and eventually a dedicated trade lane.
Full training will be provided. What matters most is that you are organised, willing to learn, pay attention to detail and have the confidence to ask questions when you are unsure.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the export team with day-to-day administrative and operational tasks
- Directing customer and supplier queries to the appropriate team member
- Keeping shipment information accurate and up to date
- Chasing customers, suppliers and other parties for required documents and information
- Preparing, filing and maintaining shipment paperwork
- Keeping electronic and physical records organised
- Assisting with documentation and other tasks as directed by the Documentation Supervisor
- Answering straightforward customer and overseas agent queries by phone and email
- Updating shipment records and internal systems
- Providing general support to experienced export operators
- Following instructions and company procedures carefully
- Learning the processes involved in international freight forwarding and export operations
- Taking on additional responsibilities as your knowledge and experience develop
What’s on Offer
£22,600 per annum for candidates aged 18–20
20 days holiday plus all UK bank holidays
Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:30
This role would suit someone who is starting their career and wants to build a long-term future in logistics.
You don't need to know the freight forwarding industry already. What we're looking for is someone who is reliable, organised, curious and keen to learn.
You should be comfortable working in a busy office environment, communicating with customers and suppliers, following processes and paying close attention to detail.
