Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a leading manufacturing business to recruit a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing engineering team in Nottingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate, apprentice-trained engineer or junior mechanical engineer looking to build a varied career across design, production engineering and toolmaking. You'll join a close-knit engineering team where no two days are the same, gaining exposure from initial product development through to production support and continuous improvement.

The OpportunityAs a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you'll split your time between the engineering office, production floor and machine shop, supporting the introduction of new products and improving manufacturing processes.
You'll be involved in:
- Designing jigs, fixtures and production tooling using SolidWorks
- Supporting new product introduction from concept through to production
- Producing manufacturing documentation, work instructions and process information
- Working alongside production teams to trial and introduce new equipment
- Assisting with continuous improvement projects across manufacturing
- Supporting engineering data and production information
- Learning toolmaking techniques within the machine shop
- Manufacturing tooling using engineering drawings and CAD models
- Providing day-to-day engineering support across production
We're keen to speak with candidates who have:
- HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong CAD skills, ideally using SolidWorks
- A sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- A proactive attitude and genuine enthusiasm to learn
- Confidence working both independently and within a team
- Experience using manual machine tools such as mills or lathes
- CNC or machining knowledge
- Experience creating jigs, fixtures or production tooling
