I am delighted to be working with a lovely 2-form-entry primary school in Rubery, Birmingham, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their team from January 2027.

This is a full-time maternity cover position, running through to the end of the academic year, and would be a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Primary Teacher with experience in KS1.

Having worked closely with this school for several years to support their staffing needs, I know they have a fantastic and supportive school community.

You’ll be joining a warm, friendly and welcoming staff team who work closely together to create the very best environment for their pupils.

The school's vision is centred around providing children with a safe, creative and nurturing environment, where they feel confident to be themselves, develop their independence and enjoy their learning.

You will be taking responsibility for a delightful Year 1 class, supporting pupils through an important stage of their education.

This is an ideal opportunity for a Primary Teacher who:

• Has previous experience working within KS1

• Has a strong understanding of the Year 1 National Curriculum

• Is committed to achieving high standards for every pupil

• Can create an engaging and stimulating learning environment

• Is adaptable, reflective and willing to respond to the individual needs of pupils

• Is committed, reliable and a fantastic team player

Most importantly, the school is looking for someone who has a genuine passion for making a positive difference to children's lives.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ECTs are encouraged to apply

• High expectations of children's achievement, progress and behaviour

• A creative and innovative approach to teaching

• Excellent classroom management skills

• A passion for working with children and helping them reach their potential

• The ability to work effectively as part of a supportive school team
