Salary will reflect experience and qualifications in line with the London Teachers Pay Scale.
Transparency Education is recruiting an enthusiastic and committed Key Stage 1 Teacher for a welcoming primary school in Lambeth.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about helping young pupils develop strong foundations in reading, writing, mathematics and personal development. The successful candidate will join a supportive school community with high expectations for learning, behaviour and pupil wellbeing.
The role is available from September 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis and would suit either an experienced primary teacher or an Early Career Teacher with strong Key Stage 1 experience.
The role
As the Key Stage 1 Teacher, you will take responsibility for the learning, progress and wellbeing of a class of pupils in Year 1 or Year 2.
• Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Teaching high-quality phonics, reading, writing and mathematics
• Creating a positive, inclusive and well-organised classroom environment
• Using assessment effectively to identify progress, gaps and next steps
• Adapting teaching to meet a range of abilities and additional needs
• Establishing clear routines and high expectations for behaviour
• Supporting pupils as they develop independence, resilience and confidence
• Working closely with teaching assistants and intervention staff
• Maintaining accurate planning, assessment and pupil records
• Building constructive relationships with parents and carers
What we are looking for
• Qualified Teacher Status in the UK
• Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1
• A strong understanding of the national curriculum
• Secure knowledge of early reading and systematic synthetic phonics
• Good classroom and behaviour-management skills
• The ability to use assessment to inform future teaching
• Confidence adapting lessons for pupils with different learning needs
• Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills
• High expectations for pupil achievement and conduct
• A warm, patient and professional approach
• A clear commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
• Experience teaching Year 1 or Year 2 and preparing pupils for statutory assessments would be advantageous.
