Location: Wandsworth, London, SW15
Salary: £40,317–£62,496 per annum, Inner London, plus the applicable September 2026 pay award
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
Start date: 1 September 2026
Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range.
An excellent primary school in Wandsworth is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teacher. This is an attractive opportunity for a teacher who understands how to build strong foundations in early reading, writing and mathematics while maintaining a creative and inclusive curriculum.
Key responsibilities
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Provide systematic and effective early-reading and phonics teaching.
• Use assessment to identify gaps, adapt lessons and support progress.
• Establish clear routines and positive behaviour expectations.
• Work effectively with teaching assistants and specialist staff.
• Maintain constructive relationships with parents and carers.
Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status.
• Successful experience teaching within Key Stage 1.
• Strong knowledge of phonics, early reading and the primary curriculum.
• High expectations for progress, behaviour and inclusion.
• Effective planning, assessment and classroom-management skills.
• A reflective and collaborative approach to teaching.
