We are looking to recruit a kitchen assistant on a part time basis to join the team. We are looking for someone who's committed to maintaining the highest standards in the kitchen and during the food preparation process.

The successful candidate will be reliable, considerate and caring in your approach. Formal qualifications aren't necessary, although any similar experience gained in a similar setting would be beneficial.

About the Service - Roborough House provides expert care and treatment for adults with complex support needs, resulting from mental health disorders, dementias, strokes and progressive neurological conditions and associated comorbidities such as epilepsy, dysphagia, diabetes and behaviours that may challenge a mainstream nursing home.

The Role

You will:

  • Understanding food safety and hygiene
  • Stock dining area – setting tables
  • Light cleaning of dining and kitchen area
  • Wash dishes and cutlery
  • Vegetable preparation
  • Covering sickness and annual leave entitlements
  • Able to work alternative weekends
  • Operating the dishwasher - loading and unloading, mopping floors

Requirements

  • Previous kitchen experience preferred – but not essential as full training will be given
  • Able to work under pressure and to a tight schedule.
  • Enthusiastic and positive approach.
  • Must be flexible and able to work during some of our peak times which include weekends, bank holidays and school holidays.
  • NVQ Level 2 in catering – preferred - but not essential as full training will be given.
