We're looking for a KS1 English Tutor to support young learners across Portsmouth, Southampton, and the surrounding Hampshire areas through personalised 1:1 tuition.
Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll help primary-aged children develop their early literacy skills, confidence, and engagement with learning. Many of the pupils we support require a more tailored approach to education and benefit from consistent, positive support outside of a traditional classroom setting.
This role is ideal for education professionals who enjoy working with younger children and making a meaningful impact during the early stages of their educational journey.

Requirements
- Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
- Experience supporting KS1 pupils
- Strong understanding of early literacy and English development
- Ability to deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning activities
- Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable
- Patient, nurturing, and encouraging approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across Portsmouth, Southampton, and surrounding areas

You'll work with primary-aged children who may have a range of needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- ADHD
- Anxiety and school avoidance
- Speech, language, and communication needs
- EHCPs and additional learning needs
Your support will help children build confidence in their reading, writing, phonics, and communication skills while fostering a positive attitude towards learning.
