Teach Now is recruiting for an enthusiastic and creative KS1 Teacher to join a thriving primary school in Merton on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher who enjoys building strong foundations for young learners and creating a classroom where pupils feel excited to learn.

The Role
As a KS1 Teacher, you will take responsibility for a Key Stage 1 class, delivering engaging lessons that support pupils’ progress in phonics, reading, writing, maths and the wider curriculum. You will create a nurturing classroom environment where children are encouraged to participate, ask questions and develop a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver high-quality KS1 lessons across the primary curriculum.
• Support strong progress in phonics, early reading, writing and maths.
• Use assessment to identify gaps, plan next steps and adapt learning.
• Create a calm, positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Work effectively with teaching assistants and phase colleagues.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.
• Contribute to year-group planning and the wider life of the school.
Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status, QTS.
• Experience teaching in KS1 or strong placement experience for ECTs.
• Secure understanding of the KS1 curriculum and effective assessment practice.
• Strong classroom management and a warm, encouraging teaching style.
• Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and raising standards.
• Ability to plan engaging lessons that meet a range of learning needs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
