Location: Barnet, London
Salary: £90–£100 per day, dependent on experience and qualifications
Contract: Full-time, Temporary
Start: September 2026 – immediate/as soon as possible

Do you enjoy helping young children turn early reading, writing and number skills into real confidence?

Teach Now is recruiting a KS1 Teaching Assistant for a full-time opportunity in a Barnet primary school.

You will support pupils during an important stage of their development, working alongside the class teacher and helping children build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and independent learning.

The role
  • Support learning across Year 1 and/or Year 2.
  • Deliver phonics, reading and maths activities.
  • Work with small groups and individual pupils.
  • Help children stay focused and engaged during lessons.
  • Support classroom routines and positive behaviour.
  • Provide additional help to pupils who may be working below expected levels.
About you
  • Previous KS1 or primary-school experience is highly desirable.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification is beneficial.
  • Phonics experience would be an advantage.
  • Strong spoken and written English.
  • Warm, patient and confident with younger learners.
