About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Key Stage 2 Teacher to join our welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in West Drayton. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a KS2 class, delivering engaging and challenging lessons in line with the National Curriculum. They will play an important role in supporting pupils’ academic progress, developing confidence and preparing children for the next stage of their education.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons across the KS2 curriculum.
• Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where all pupils can thrive.
• Assess, monitor and track pupil progress effectively, using assessment to inform future planning.
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEND and EAL.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning and achievement.
• Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff and the wider school team.
• Contribute to wider school activities, enrichment opportunities and school improvement priorities.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the KS2 National Curriculum.
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2 (desirable).
• A creative, reflective and child-centred approach to teaching.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
• Experience differentiating learning to support pupils of all abilities, including SEN and EAL.
• Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to supporting pupils’ progress, wellbeing and personal development.
• A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (UDS), or be willing to apply for one.
