KS3 Tutor
Prospero Teaching
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and engaging Tutor/Mentor to support a Year 9 student in the BH16 area with Maths and English tuition and overall mentoring.
The young person is currently experiencing significant school-based anxiety and has diagnoses of ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), which have presented barriers to accessing mainstream education.
The priority for this role is to build a safe, trusting, and positive relationship with the young person. Academic support in Maths and English is important, but creating a secure and supportive environment where the young person feels understood and valued will be the key to success.
About the Provision

Initially, support will consist of:
- Home-based tuition and mentoring
- Building trust and positive relationships
- Increasing confidence around learning and education
As the young person becomes more comfortable, sessions may gradually progress into a school setting, with the long-term aim of helping them feel able to access mainstream education once again.
Applicants must:
- Have a minimum of 6 months' experience working within education, childcare, or a related setting.
- Be confident planning and delivering engaging Maths and English sessions ( KS3 ).
- Have experience supporting young people with SEN.
- Be able to adopt a trauma-informed approach to learning and engagement.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to a young person's life by helping them rebuild their confidence, develop a positive relationship with learning, and successfully re-engage with education.
