Omega are delighted to be supporting a leading laboratory services business in the recruitment of a Laboratory Technician to join their team in Leicester.

This is a hands-on laboratory role focused on sample preparation, booking in samples and supporting the day-to-day running of the laboratory. It would suit someone with previous laboratory experience who is organised, reliable and enjoys working in a structured environment.

Main Duties - Laboratory Analyst

• Book in samples and prepare them for testing
• Carry out routine quality checks on methods and equipment
• Perform basic equipment maintenance when required
• Keep laboratory records and documentation up to date
• Support stock control and order laboratory consumables when needed
• Ensure the laboratory is kept clean, organised and safe
• Follow Health & Safety, COSHH and Good Laboratory Practice procedures
• Work in line with ISO17025 and quality requirements
• Support the wider laboratory team with day-to-day activities

The Ideal Candidate - Laboratory Analyst

• Previous laboratory experience
• Scientific degree preferred but not essential
• Good attention to detail
• Comfortable following procedures and working to quality standards
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Knowledge of LIMS systems would be beneficial
• Reliable, flexible and able to work as part of a team
