In this role, the successful Lab Technician will work within the laboratory department supporting all periodic testing requirements as well as other laboratory functions in accordance with a range of strict written standards. The Lab Technician will be required to support the review of laboratory test reports and understand what action to take when there are opportunities to prevent risk or make improvements identified through reliable test data.

The ideal Lab Technician would come from a similar role, and or, have a relevant degree and be able to perform the role from day one. Also, you must be prepared to work on site every day and within the Nuclear/Defence/Aerospace Industries.

The Role:

  • Test coatings, materials, chemicals, and water systems to meet internal and client standards.
  • Fill process tanks with new chemicals using technical data sheets and client specs.
  • Monitor and adjust existing chemical solutions to stay within required operating parameters.
  • Follow strict schedules for all periodic testing requirements.
  • Help top up effluent chemicals when needed.
  • Identify and mark test tokens to keep test results accurate and traceable.
  • Operate electronic titration systems, corrosion test chambers, and other lab tools daily.
  • Follow all safety procedures at all times.
  • Record, analyze, and interpret data from tests.
  • Other role and responsibilities as required by the Quality Manager.

The Person:

  • Lab Technician able to carry out chemical analysis.
  • Local to Cheshire.
