Labour Manager
Rogers McHugh Recruitment
About you
If you like being busy, enjoy speaking to people and are good at keeping lots of things moving at the same time, this could be a really good opportunity for you.
We are looking for a Labour Manager to join our Trades & Labour team in our South Manchester office. This is a high volume recruitment role where you will be dealing with lots of candidates, vacancies and tasks every day, so you need to be organised, switched on and able to prioritise when everything seems to land at once.
You do not need to be an experienced recruiter. What matters more is that you are comfortable working at pace, can communicate well with people and are someone who takes responsibility for getting things done.
If you have previously worked as a trainee recruitment consultant but realised the sales side was not for you, you are currently a recruitment resourcer, or you have worked in telesales and want to move into recruitment, I would definitely like to speak to you.
Your experience
You might already have recruitment experience, particularly as a resourcer, trainee recruitment consultant or administrator within a recruitment business.
You may also have experience in telesales, customer service or another high volume telephone based role where you have had to speak to lots of people, manage multiple tasks and work towards deadlines.
You will need to be comfortable picking up the phone and speaking to candidates throughout the day. You will also need good attention to detail because getting the right compliance information completed and making sure candidates are fully registered is a big part of the role.
Most importantly, you need to be able to think on your feet. Trades & Labour recruitment can move quickly, so you need to be comfortable changing priorities and dealing with whatever needs your attention next.
What you will be doing with your experience
You will be part of our Trades & Labour recruitment team, helping us make sure we have the right candidates available and ready to work across our clients' projects.
A big part of your day will be registering candidates, speaking to them about the work available and making sure we have all of the information we need to put them forward.
You will be responsible for obtaining right to work documentation, completing references and making sure candidate compliance is fully up to date.
Once candidates are registered and compliant, you will match them to suitable jobs and send the right people to work. You will need to understand what each vacancy requires and make sensible decisions about which candidates are suitable.
You will be managing multiple candidates and vacancies at the same time, so prioritisation will be important. Some tasks will need dealing with immediately, while others can wait. You will need to work that out for yourself and keep everything moving.
This is not a role where you will be sitting around waiting for the phone to ring. There will be plenty to do, plenty of people to speak to and plenty of opportunities to make a real difference to how effectively the Trades & Labour team delivers for its clients.
About the business
Rogers McHugh Recruitment is a specialist construction recruitment business based in South Manchester.
Our Trades & Labour team supplies construction workers to clients across the UK, so you will be joining a busy part of the business where speed, organisation and getting the right people into work really matter.
We are looking for someone who wants to build a career in recruitment but perhaps does not want a traditional sales focused recruitment role.
You will receive support and training from an experienced recruitment team, while gaining hands on experience across candidate registration, recruitment compliance, resourcing and placing candidates into work.
The salary is £26,000 per year and the role is based in our South Manchester office.
If you are hardworking, organised, positive and enjoy working at pace, I think this could be a really good first or next step into recruitment.
