About the Role

Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting for an experienced LAC Social Worker to join Luton Council's Children's Services.

This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and experienced Social Worker to work within a supportive team, managing a caseload of Looked After Children and helping to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.

The role offers hybrid working, providing a balance between office-based and remote working.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage a caseload of Looked After Children, ensuring their needs, wishes and feelings remain at the centre of planning and decision-making.
2. Complete high-quality assessments, care plans, reviews and statutory visits in line with legislation and local authority procedures.
3. Work collaboratively with children, young people, families, carers and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
4. Ensure children are safeguarded and that any risks or concerns are identified and appropriately managed.
5. Prepare and contribute to Looked After Children Reviews, court proceedings and other relevant meetings.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and ensure all statutory requirements and deadlines are met.
7. Work closely with foster carers, education, health and other partner agencies to ensure children receive appropriate support.
8. Promote permanence and ensure that plans for children are progressed effectively and without unnecessary delay.

Requirements

1. Social Work England registration.
2. Relevant Social Work qualification.
3. Previous experience working with Looked After Children / Children in Care within a local authority setting.
4. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures and statutory social work practice.
5. Ability to manage a complex caseload and work effectively within deadlines.
6. Excellent communication, assessment and report-writing skills.
7. Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
