Landscape Gardener

Landscape Gardener required to work around the Southend area.

Please note: Monday to Friday and you must have your own transport and site-based outdoor work.

The role:

We are looking for a reliable Landscape Gardener to undertake landscaping and garden maintenance projects across Southend-on-Sea and the surrounding areas. Working on residential and commercial properties, you will help create and maintain attractive outdoor spaces, completing work to a high standard and providing a professional service to customers.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare ground, improve soil and lay turf. Plant trees, shrubs, flowers and hedges. Carry out mowing, hedge cutting, pruning, weeding and general garden maintenance.
• Assist with hard landscaping, including patios, paving, fencing, decking and garden edging. Use gardening tools and powered equipment safely.
• Load, unload and move materials, keeping work areas clean and tidy.
• Follow project instructions and agreed schedules.
• Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Follow health and safety procedures and report equipment faults.

Essential skills and experience:

• Proven previous experience in landscaping, gardening or grounds maintenance.
• A practical understanding of planting, lawn care and seasonal maintenance.
• Experience using common gardening tools and machinery safely.
• Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
• Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work independently or within a team.
• Ability to undertake the physical duties of the role, with reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to travel to sites across Southend and surrounding areas.

• A full UK driving licence, particularly where driving a company vehicle is required.
