This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Laser Cutting Operator to work for a specialist in precision laser cutting, metal fabrication, and high-quality finishing solutions, delivering accurate, reliable components for a wide range of industrial applications. With a focus on craftsmanship, speed, and consistency, they support customers from prototype through to full production.

Laser Cutting Operator Pay, Hours and Benefits
- £32,076 (including shift allowance)
- 40 hours per week, rotating shifts, Monday – Friday, 6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm and 10pm – 6am
- 32 days holiday, including bank holidays
- Available overtime
This role is commutable from the following areas: Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Grantham, Loughborough
Laser Cutting Operator Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting machinery safely, efficiently, and accurately while ensuring high standards of quality, productivity, and continuous improvement are maintained. The role requires attention to detail, a proactive approach, and a commitment to delivering quality products in line with customer requirements.
Laser Cutting Operator Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience operating laser cutting machinery within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Flexible and reliable approach to work.
Laser Cutting Operator Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor laser cutting machines to produce components in line with production schedules and engineering specifications.
- Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and production documentation.
- Carry out machine set-ups including tooling changes and machine adjustments where required.
- Perform quality inspections and checks throughout the manufacturing process using measuring equipment.
- Ensure all products meet company and customer quality standards.
- Monitor machine performance and identify any issues affecting production efficiency.
- Complete production records and relevant paperwork accurately.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and basic preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards and ensure the work area remains clean and organised.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures, company policies, and safe systems of work at all times.
- Support training and development of team members where appropriate.
