The Role
Our client is looking for a Lead Document Controller to take strategic ownership of document control across all projects. You'll manage document numbering, drawing registers, transmittals/submittals, revision control and the Common Data Environment (CDE), ensuring information is accurate, traceable, and fully compliant. You'll also line manage the current Document Controller, supporting their development, and report to the Technical Director on performance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage document numbering, drawing registers and revision control across all projects
- Administer transmittals/submittals and the CDE using SharePoint and ProCore
- Design and maintain document workflows for review, approval and issue cycles
- Undertake QA checks on all document submissions prior to issue
- Oversee archiving and distribution of project documentation
- Support BIM information management processes
- Line manage and develop the Document Controller
- Liaise with project, design and construction teams to support delivery
- Significant experience as a Document Controller/Lead Document Controller in construction, engineering or technical services
- Proven track record administering document control on multi-disciplinary projects
- Experience supervising or mentoring document control staff
- Expert-level SharePoint and ProCore knowledge; working knowledge of Aconex/Asite desirable
- Experience supporting BIM information management desirable
- Strong organisational skills, high attention to detail, and excellent communication
- Highly methodical, proactive and results-driven, with resilience under pressure
